Seat I1: "Kate's Story"
written by Alan Holman

Hi. I'm Kate. I died a few years ago. Yeah, I don't look dead. I look like an average 26 year-old woman who rides a bus every day to work as an archetect, to support my husband and three beautiful children. I don't look dead, but I'm dead. Not metaphorically but metaphysically -- I'm dead, completely dead. I died six years ago, in a car accident. On my way home from a conference, I was alone in my car, driving on the highway, when I fell asleep at the wheel in the middle of the night. Next thing I knew, I was standing in front of an up-turned car in a ditch, and my body was in a very gross condition. I couldn't handle the guilt of knowing that the news of my death would devastate my husband and children, so I recruited local ghosts to help me hide my car and body in a nearby cave. I walked home, and finally got there early the next morning, and I couldn't hold back the tears -- I cried and told my husband that someone stole my car. To this day, my family, friends, and co-workers, have no idea that I'm actually a dead woman ... a ghost ... who's still saving up for a new car.
