Plague! and how to survive it! (revised by Blue)

First of all get prepared before you get infected!
Learn how to aid wounds, so you can not only tend
your wounds, but also aid others in need!

Being prepared means, that you train the theory
AND also practice the skill, else you might do
more damage to yourself or a friend. So train it
to at least: superior amateur (OOC Lv. 20).

Another important factor to remember is PREVENTION.
Stay away from places where the plague is known to
be rampant, such as the Padorn sewers. Also, try to
avoid drinking from major wells and fountains. These
are the common targets of necromancer poisonings.
If you really can't get a waterskin, drink from smaller
less-used wells, or rivers, they're safer.

How to survive the plague when you are alone?
Keep cool and think!
If you are in a town or a populated area, leave it
as fast as possible and avoid contact with other
people. Do NOT, above all, stay in a pub or other
well-populated area in the hopes that someone will
come to your aid. This is the way that the plague is
most quickly spread! Important to remember, is that if
you hurt yourself beyond a certain point, you will be
unable to heal yourself by natural methods. (OOC if you
reach a very bad shape) If you can have someone who is
strong enough to resist the plague bring a healing potion
to you, or make your own, it is advisible to get them.
You may need them.

Look for a safe place and rest. Unless you are
absolutely sure that you can manage the plague on
your own, call for help IMMEDIATELY.
If you start to bleed, tend your wounds quickly,
either relying on you skill in first aid or using
your ability to stop your wounds from bleeding.
If you know any clerics or healers, ask them to
aid you, or ask your guildmates to contact them for
you. The plague can be deadly if you let your
health slip too far.

How to survive the plague when you are in a group?
Seperate and follow the guidelines for being alone.

How to keep young fellaws alive?
You should be trained in first aid!

Mostly the same as being alone. Take her/him to a
safe place and aid her/him until s/he feels the
life returning. (You have to ask the youngster to
tell you when s/he reaches this state of course).
Make sure s/he waits until s/he won against the
plague and then take care of yourself. (This can be
very dangerous; make sure that you have enough health
to withstand the plagues' ravages, and most importantly,
remember not to re-infect your ward!)

Where to learn the skills?
There are different schools around which teach how
to tend wounds and stop bleedings.
Atlantis School : from the main harbour east until you
reach the first crossing; turn south
and follow the path southwest; the
school is situated to the south.
Rebeth in Lonar : follow the street west from the
harbour to the town and further till
it turns southwest and south; Rebeth
lives at the southern end of the
street to the west; you can't miss
him, course he loves to talk about
the desert and the sandworms all
                  day long.
Rafting School : situated in Woonoonga, it is the
school hardest to find and the way
there isn't free of dangers, so
better ask an elder psionic to lead
you there! Btw, it's the school with
the best teacher, so it's worth a
visit after you know the basics.

If you don't trust your skills or abilities, ask a cleric
or Healer of Padorn to come to your aid immediately! Do
not take chances with your life.

Lawrence, Lord of Fire.
