FORWARD & DISCLAIMERS
Greetings, fellow Xyllomerians!
Once again, things have changed, and it's time for this volume
of Gods of Xyllomer to be updated once more. This edition contains
updates to sections I, II, III and V of the previous volume, as
well as visual descriptions for the demi-gods. Please note this
is meant to be only a very general guide, not a detailed listing
of every single aspect of every deity. Feel free to store a copy
of this book in your guild library, if it is not already done.
Please do NOT edit this book yourself if you find information
within it faulty, rather, mail me with the corrections so that
ALL copies of the book can be updated properly.
All information provided within this book is my opinion alone.
Naturally, followers of these gods will have their own opinions
and may disagree with my viewpoints. I have attempted to keep
my bias to a minimum, but remember that one must decide on the
gods for oneself, for no informed source you can find will truly
be unbiased.
Additionally, there are three separate schools of religious
philosophy within Xyllomer. This book deals solely with the gods
of Xyllomer as I have physically discovered them through many
years of adventuring and the jungle pantheon of the Yucutan.
It does not touch upon the creation theory composed by the
immortal Verdrigis.
I thank you all for taking the time to read this book, and
hope it proves useful in some small way.

.:*~*:._.:* THE THREE PRIMARY DEITIES *:._.:*~*:.
These deities are often referred to as the three "primary" gods
of Xyllomer because certain creation theories hold that they are
the original children of AO, the Creator of our world.
ROKOON
Rokoon is the most well-known god of good alignment. He is
said to be the god of wind and dragons, and his symbols are
the dragon and the falcon. He is one of the more demanding
gods of Xyllomer, having regular sermons requiring mandatory
attendance on a daily basis. Rokoon is the nemesis of Bhaal,
and an enemy of Huitzilopochtli and generally any other evil
deity. Rokoon is known to have at least four shrines in the
world. The most prominent based in Padorn, while the largest
can be found in the Monestary north of New Tilverton. Smaller
shrines are located in both Lonar and Silverlining. Followers
actively pursue the search for new believers.
BHAAL
Bhaal is one of the major evil deities of the world, and the
preferred choice for necromancers. Also known as "The Nameless
One," Bhaal is the nemesis of Rokoon and the god of chaotic
death and destruction. Followers of Bhaal tend to be secretive,
as he is one of the least-liked deities in all of Xyllomer. It
is said, however, that some believers have certain symbols by
which they can identify each other. Bhaal is known to have at
least two shrines in the world, including a cathedral located
in the darkelf city under Elohim. Rumors exist of a shrine
located somewhere in Old Tilverton as well.
THARANDIL
Tharandil is the goddess of nature, and is considered to be the
foremost neutral deity of the world. She is the preferred choice
for practicers of magic, and also the racial god of both centaurs
and fairies. Although Tharandil does not have any natural enemies,
due to her closeness to nature and the balance of magic, her
followers often come into conflict with necromancers, as the
practice of necromancy is diametrically opposed to both magic and
nature. Tharandil has at least two shrines in the world, in both
Atlantis and the Grasslands.
.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:.
.:*~*:._.:* THE RACIAL DEITIES *:._.:*~*:.
Xyllomer is composed of six major races, and each has a specific
deity associated with them.
ORADES
The racial god of humans, Orades was said to have saved the
human population of Padorn from the fiery wrath of Rokoon in
the ancient past. Although Orades was formerly aligned closely
with the worship of good, today he is a more neutral patron of
wisdom, fortune, travel and trade. Orades has at least three
shrines in the world, the most prominent of which can be found
north of the Satai guild in Padorn. Other shrines can be found
in the village of Ryegate and the port town of Cloud Bottom.
DUALDIN
The racial god of elves, Dualdin is generally considered to
have a good alignment. Dualdin is known as the creator of elves,
and also is the patron god of the forest and hunters. Dualdin's
symbols are said to be the Oak and the Emerald; he has at least
two shrines in the world, one in the City of Elohim and another
in the tree-castle of the Elfqueen in Tortoise.
SWARNIGUL
The racial goddess of dwarves, Swarnigul is generally considered
to have a good alignment. She is known as the patron goddess of
mining and caves, and is said to have a special, rare gem as a
symbol. Swarnigul has at least three shrines in the world, located
on the ground floor of Dalzungund, in Dhor Dal and also the mining
city of Bruadrik in Silverlining.
CALRIC
The racial god of gnomes, Calric is generally considered to have
a mildly evil alignment. It should be noted that Calric is seen as
a mischievous deity, and not actually one of the major evil deities
of Xyllomer. Calric is the patron god of inventors and builders,
and has the symbol of a crossed hammer and saw. There are at least
two shrines to Calric in the world, both on the fields of Ki-Eren-
Home as well as the village of Asyra. Rumors exist of a famous gnomish
city located within a volcano in Tortoise, however, the city and any
altar within it seems to have been destroyed by time.
THARANDIL
As stated above, Tharandil is not only one of the primary deities and
the goddess of nature, she is also the racial goddess of both fairies
and centaurs. Tharandil is said to have cursed the centaur race,
however, forbidding them to have offspring, and thereby ensuring their
eventual extinction from the world. Reasons for this are unknown.
.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:.
.:*~*:._.:* OTHER MAJOR DEITIES *:._.:*~*:.
While the followers of the three primary gods and the five racial
deities do compose a large percentage of the total believers in all
of Xyllomer, there are a few other major deities of note, all of
whom have a solid following within Xyllomer.
THE WARSHRIKE GODS
The Warshrikes are a religious warriors' guild composed of the
worship of four individual gods and goddesses, all of whom are
collected for a single purpose under the guiding deity of Akai-
Kurushi. Although each god holds a distinct, different belief
from the others, they work together to form an organization on
the whole, whose purpose is to eradicate the evil presence of
demons known as "The Old Ones." For this reason, followers of
differently aligned gods do not always come into conflict. The
overall symbol of the Warshrike guild is four interlocking rings
encircled by a larger ring. The shrines of all Warshrike deities
can be found in or near the chapterhouse of the Warshrikes in
Silverlining. Additionally a single chapel dedicated to the
worship of all five deities has been built in Elohim.
AKAI-KURUSHI
The founding member of the Warshrikes, Akai-Kurushi was said to
have stumbled over the presence of the Morin Ak'Fazeel, also
known as "The Old Ones." Through the help of Rokoon this deity
managed to transfer his essence into the living body of his high
priest, thereby forming the tradition of the Jitsua's worship of
this deity. Akai-Kurushi is known as "The Binder" and "The Lord
of Life and Death during War" or more simply, "The Lord of War."
His symbol is a golden gryphon, and his shrine is located in the
inner sanctum of the Warshrike chapterhouse in Silverlining.
OOSAMA
Also a Warshrike god, Oosama is known as the Lord of Battle and
Honor. He is often portrayed as a warrior-monk tattooed with the
image of a long, green dragon. Worship of Oosama is believed to
have originated from the jungle and formerly was restricted solely
to men. He is often symbolized by a drakin, a tiny, butterfly-like
bird thought to be a good omen in battle. Followers of Oosama also
consider dragons to be sacred creatures. Although many people
believe Oosama to be neutral in nature, as with all Warshrike gods,
first allegiance is always given to the Warshrike community.
XOGINA
A goddess of the Warshrikes, Xogina is known as the Lady of
Cruelty, Carnage, Lust, Pain, Rage, and Passion among other
things, although most usually her title is shortened to the
Lady of Blood. Although seemingly evil, like all Warshrike
deities, her first allegiance is to the Warshrike community.
Her worship was formerly restricted solely to women. She is
often symbolized by the wyvern, a small, dragon-like creature
with leathery wings.
KORANISHAXX
One of the Warshrike goddesses, Koranishaxx is most commonly
known as the Lady of Fire by her followers, although she is
also referred to as the Lady of Life or Rebirth. She is
generally considered to be a good deity, though as with the
others, her first allegiance is to the Warshrike community.
She is often portrayed as a red or golden-haired woman
sprouting the wings of a phoenix, and her symbol is the
phoenix, a mythical bird of flame that burns to ashes only
to be reborn again in an endless cycle.
ASGOTH
* To understand the worship of Asgoth, one must first
understand that there exists in Xyllomer two splintered
factions of followers, each of which firmly believes that
their vision of the deity is correct. In order to simplify
the organization of the book, Asgoth will be detailed as one
of the Warshrike gods. It should be clearly noted, however,
that a good portion of the followers of this deity believe
that he withdrew from the Warshrike Alliance and now stands
alone as an independent, evil deity.
One of the Warshrike gods, Asgoth is known as the Lord of
Destruction, though this usually pertains to destruction
through battle. Asgoth is rumored to be the brother of
Huitzilopochtli, although no formal alliance exists between
the two. Asgoth is symbolized within the Warshrike community
by the yema, a bat-like bird that is said to bring death.
Followers who believe Asgoth left the Alliance symbolize
Asgoth with the raven. The base of warriors who believe
Asgoth broke from the Alliance can be found in Port Dore,
and rumours suggest that a shrine to the independent Asgoth
may exist somewhere in Tortoise.
HUITZILOPOCHTLI
One of the most prominent evil deities of Xyllomer,
Huitzilopochtli is known as the god of blood and lightning.
Worship of this deity is based in the jungles of the
Yucutan, and followers adhere to a completely different
pantheon than those of Primordians. Because of this
deity's demand for blood and humanoid sacrifices, however,
he is seem among most other religions as being evil and is
generally disliked. Additionally, because worship of
Huitzilopochtli is based on a set of beliefs concerning the
renewal of land through the offering of blood rituals, he is
not seen as a deity of destruction among the other neutral
and evil deities, and therefore does not usually ally with or
can sometimes even come into conflict with other evil deities,
such as Bhaal. Huitzilopochtli is a direct enemy of Rokoon,
and has no formal alliance with the independent Asgoth despite
various rumors.
Huitzilopochtli is often symbolized by lightning and the snake-
eagle, or the snake and the eagle. In the jungle pantheon he
is known as the youngest of the original four offspring of the
Dual Lord and Dual Lady, or the "Blue Tezcatlipoca" or the fifth
sun, or the "Earthquake Sun." He also once disguised himself as
the minor god "Nanahuatzin" according to the jungle pantheon.
For more detailed descriptions about the religion of the Yucutan,
please see the following section entitled "Extinct / Non-
Worshipable Deities."
MORAN
This deity is referred to as the God of War, and considered to
be somewhat neutral. This deity attracts a large following
among warriors, although battlemages are sometimes drawn to his
worship as well. Moran is known to represent concepts of valor,
respect, morality and justice, especially in battle. His symbol
is two crossed thunderbolt-shaped blades. There are at least two
known shrines to Moran, one in the city of Padorn and another
in the Grasslands.
SELYRA
Selyra is most commonly known as the goddess of love, although
she is also referred to as the patron of peace, tolerance, the
arts, beauty and music. Her followers are known to adhere to
a more pacifistic, neutral alignment, although her worship is
often associated with good-aligned deities as well. Selyra's
symbols are the sapphire and the spiral. She has at least three
known shrines in Xyllomer, located on the fields between Padorn
and Dalzungund, Port Dore and Lonar.
.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:.
.:*~*:._.:* MINOR DEITIES *:._.:*~*:.
Although these deities are not truly "minor" to their faithful
followers, the majority of adventurers in Xyllomer today do not
worship these religions, usually because of a combination of
their specific focus and the unusual difficulties associated
with reaching their shrines.
CRAIGTOOTH MISTBROW
One of the two racial deities of the giants, Craigtooth
Mistbrow represents goodness and is seemingly an ally of
Rokoon. Her shrine can be found in the city of the giants,
off of the mountain path to Silverlining. It is guarded
against intrusion, however, within the gated city of the
giants.
TEMPUS
Though not one of the major evil deities, Tempus is a declared
enemy of Rokoon. His purpose, other than to be evil and promote
warfare, seems to be unclear; nevertheless, a temple to this
deity can be found in the dome of Lonar.
TRITON
The god of the sea, Triton was rumored to have built the
underwater city of Moeth, and with the help of a semi-immortal
magician, to have created the race of merfolk which populate
the seas. He is the racial deity of the merfolk; his most
prominent temple can be found in the underwater city of Moeth,
located off the shore of Tortoise. Travellers should be warned
that violent, wandering sea giants occasionally frequent both
the city and the shrine itself.
VULCANOS
Vulcanos is the second racial deity of the giants, the god who
represents evil. Vulcanos has only one shrine, also located
within the giants domain in the mountains of Silverlining, and
also closely guarded by the giant community.
.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:.
.:*~*:._.:* EXTINCT / NON-WORSHIPABLE DEITIES *:._.:*~*:.
The deities listed below fall into one of two classes in
Xyllomer - either their worship has died out and no shrines
or priests can be found for them any longer, or, their worship
still exists in Xyllomer, however, finding shrines oriented
specifically to these deities is difficult if not impossible.
For all intents and purposes, they are "non-worshipable," or
unable to offer the services that other shrines normally
provide to their followers.
AO
The existence of this god stems from one of the many creation
theories within Xyllomer. According to said theory, in the
beginning there was only one god, Ao, and that all other gods
were created because, in the words of Calric, "Ao got bored."
If this one, creator deity truly exists, the presence of any
shrines has yet to be found.
ARZASH
A little known deity from the very ancient days of Avalon,
a former magical island of Xyllomer which sunk and was
replaced by the continent of Atlantis. This deity seems to
have been known primarily by mages and sorcerers.
CHALCHIUHTLICUE
A minor goddess of the jungle pantheon, Chalchiuhtlichue was
the wife Tlaloc, the god of rain, and also referred to as the
"Water Sun" or the fourth sun in the jungle creation story.
It is said that she took the opportunity to become the sun
after her husband was destroyed by the god Quezalcoatl, but
that her powers were too weak, and her rule caused an endless
rain to fall over the jungle until she was stopped by the gods
Tezcatlipoca and Quetzalcoatl.
THE DEAD LAND LORD AND HIS WIFE
Minor gods of the jungle pantheon, these enigmatic deities were
said to have ruled over "the dead lands" underneath the earth.
It is said that Quezalcoatl took bones from their domain and
used them to create the races, inadvertently causing mortality
within people as well when the Dead Land Lord and his wife
grew jealous and attempted to take back the bones.
DUAL LORD / DUAL LADY
Little is known of these gods, other than the fact that they
are two separate deities that seem to correlate with the idea
of Ao, or "ultimate creation deities," within the jungle
pantheon.
KRONOS
A forgotten god of the old times, the former shrine of this
deity of time can be found in Tortoise. It has been
speculated that this deity's worship eventually evolved into
the god known as Xan, although rumors also exist that this
deity evolved into the worship of the present-day god Tempus.
There are no active priests of this deity.
MURGORON
Another forgotten god, the temple of this seemingly evil deity
can be found in Old Tilverton. Although the shrine does seem
to retain residual supernatural activity, there are no existing
priests of this god, or known followers.
NANAHUATZIN
Nanahuatzin was the disguise used by the god Huitzilopochtli in
the creation story of the jungle pantheon. It is said that he
was a sick and diseased god, but also brave and humble. He was
revealed as Huitzilopochtli when he dove into the sun, thereby
becoming the fifth and currently existing sun of the world,
otherwise known as the "Earthquake Sun." He is also the only god
in the jungle pantheon said to be strong enough to power the sun,
and demands sacrifices from his followers in return for his duties.
NEUTRALITY
A long-forgotten deity with no description and no clues to its
worship, apart from a solitary statue of a priest. This god's
motto is "Give and you shall receive" and its chapel can be
found in the Museum of Padorn.
POWER
A forgotten deity with no existing priests. A shrine to this
god still stands, hidden somewhere in Stone Mountains.
QUETZALCOATL
A major deity of the jungle pantheon, Quetzalcoatl was one of
the original offspring of the Dual Lord and Dual Lady, and
also known as the "White Tezcatlipoca" and the second sun, or
"Wind Sun" in the creation story. Although Quetzalcoatl was
seemingly a very powerful and influential god, and still has
a following of worshippers in the jungle today, he was still
considered to be too weak to power the sun alone. Although
followers of Quetzalcoatl today ally with or at least tolerate
followers of Rokoon, no priests of this cult have yet been
discovered to officially confirm this behavior.
SOLTAR
This god is a little known deity from the recent past.
Although information on this god is sparse at best, it seems
to have been a deity of a more good alignment than evil, and
also associated with warriors.
TECUCIZTECATL
A minor deity of the jungle pantheon, this proud god is said
to have jumped into the sun after being shamed by Nanahuatzin.
Because this action resulted in the creation of two simultaneous
suns, however, Tecuciztecatl was jolted out of the sky by the
people, and by falling into the ocean, formed the maelstrom.
His death is what caused Nanahuatzin to reveal his true identity
and demand sacrifices from the people in order to continue the
sun's journey across the sky.
TEZCATLIPOCA
One of the original four offspring of the Dual Lord and Dual
Lady in the jungle pantheon, Tezcatlipoca is also known as
the "Black Tezcatlipoca" and was the first sun, or the "Jaguar
Sun." He is described as a jealous and vindictive god, and
after destroying the world created by Huitzilopochtli and
Quetzalcoatl, tried to become the sun of a new world but was
too weak to support diverse life there. He ruled over his
new world until the god Quetzalcoatl knocked him from the
sky and took over the world as revenge. He is also said to
have turned into a jaguar in an attempt to destroy the world
once again, but was unsuccessful, and ultimately saved the
world by ending Chalchiuhtlichue's reign with the help of
Quetzalcoatl.
TLALOC
Tlaloc is another minor god of the jungle pantheon, and is
also known as the god of rain and thieves. He is said to
have become the third sun, or the "Rain Sun" of the world,
however, he was too weak and shortly destroyed by the god
Quetzalcoatl in a rain of fire that burned away the sun.
XAN
An extinct deity in Xyllomer, Xan was formerly the god of
time and chaos. Followers of this secretive religion
celebrated both good and evil, teaching its followers to
become both fanatically holy and demonically evil depending
on the time of day. Though encompassing both sides of the
spectrum, Xan was far from a neutral deity; rather, Xan
encouraged the "chaotic tension" between polar extremes of
good and evil. The shrine to this deity was weakened greatly
by a lack of followers, and ultimately destroyed by an
invasion of maurading orcs and ogres. Its remains can still
be found today hidden in the hills between the village of
Ryegate and the Grasslands.
XIPE TOTEC
Xipe Totec is a major god of the jungle pantheon, and
possibly the oldest of the original four offspring of
the Dual Lord and Dual Lady. This god seems to have
played little to no role in the creation theory of the
jungle pantheon, other than to have been created. Little
is known about this god, other than its title as "Red
Tezcatlipoca."
MISCELLANEOUS DEITIES
This work attempts to encompass all of the known deities
of Xyllomer today; obviously, however, the work cannot be
comprehensive. Many adventurers in Xyllomer hail from
unique and distant lands, and often bring their very own
pantheon of deities and religious traditions with them.
The nature of these religions, however, makes them too
numerous and difficult to catalogue, and therefore, must
be discovered by the curious adventurer for him or herself.
.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:.
.:*~*:._.:* SPECIAL SERVICES *:._.:*~*:.
Many religions offer special boons and rewards for those who
choose to follow them. Some of these rewards are universal,
and so long as one has not angered the shrinekeeper by abusive
behavior, available to anyone who asks for them regardless of
belief. Others are services or rewards offered specifically
to reward a strong faith in a particular deity. In general,
almost all active shrines of Xyllomer are regarded as sacred
grounds, and attacking or defiling them without reason is
generally frowned upon.
RESURRECTIONS / HEALING
Most shrinekeepers offer services to heal broken limbs, restore
limbs or teeth that have been lost in battle, or, if one has
been unfortunate enough to die, create a new body for the soul.
Almost all shrines will offer these services to anyone who asks
for them, unless the request is made by someone who has angered
that particular deity. Deities of course request compensation
for these services, which can normally be achieved by donating
coins (usually 5 platinum coins) to the shrine which provided
the service. Shrinekeepers are also happy to be "paid" by
gaining the faith of those they help, and this can be done also
by donations of money and valuables to a shrine, or else by
asking the priest or priestess for a sermon. Priests will
recite sermons for any interested party, regardless of beliefs,
so long as at least one person is seated to hear the sermon at
the time it begins. It is said that the greater one's faith is
in a particular deity, the less painful the experience of
resurrection from that deity becomes. It is also known that
if a shrines's services are repeatedly abused without payment,
shrinekeepers will eventually refuse to heal or restore that
person. Finally, there are certain ailments which most normal
shrinekeepers cannot heal, for example, leprosy or the plague.
For severe ailments such as these, it is generally recommended
that young adventurers contact clerics of Rokoon for assistance.
MARRIAGE
While many religions do offer blessings for engaged couples,
the actual service of marriage is provided to this date only
by two shrines in Xyllomer. The first is a marriage chapel
dedicated to Tharandil, which can be found in the jungle city
of Woonoonga. The second is a universal marriage chapel
dedicated to all the deities of Xyllomer, which can be found
in the village of Mariloo on the northern outskirts of Padorn.
Participants wishing to marry must be of opposite gender,
although the race of each party does not play any role.
Each participant in the ceremony will receive an enchanted
wedding band free of charge, however, couples are encouraged
to plan wedding celebrations independent from the actual ring
ceremony provided by these shrines.
ARTIFACTS
Many deities provide adventuring artifacts to those who have
proven their faithfulness to the religion. Such artifacts
are usually quite rare and coveted, and can only be wielded
by the one who was granted ownership of it. There are of
course exceptions to this rule, for example, the emerald
rings of Dualdin or the Flower of Beauty can be found by
almost any adventurer, regardless of their faith, and are
not particularly rare. Other examples of religious artifacts
include, but are not limited to the holy blades of Moran, the
Sapphire of Vitality of Selyra, or the blessed golden armor
of Akai-Kurushi. Additionally, artifacts of the gods are not
always wieldable objects. The most noticeable example of this
exception is the Moonwell of Dualdin, located in the Elohim
forest. For more information on religious artifacts, curious
adventurers are encouraged to do independent research.
DEMIGODS
Demigods are mortals who have been blessed by the gods to be
favored with special powers which derive directly from their
patron deity. There exist only a handful in the world, and
they do not frequent the lands often. Their community is
rumored to exist somewhere in the northwestern fields of
Padorn, and when they are active, it is said that they can
not only provide all of the services of a priest, but also
cast magical spells, as well as share a mental link with all
those who follow their deity. The known demigods of Xyllomer
are:
Philbert, a stout red-haired male human representing Tharandil
Sheira, a wizened young male elf representing Moran
Marar, a dark-eyed stone-faced male elf representing Asgoth
Elvin, a white-haired red-eyed male fairy OR
a blond-haired grey-eyed male fairy representing Xan
* It is said that Elvin has 2 more "faces" which the author
does not know of.
Additionally, the former Jitsuas of the Warshrike Guild were
said to have encompassed the actual spirit of Akai-Kurushi,
effectively making them a "demi-god" of Akai-Kurushi for a
limited time. Over the years this practice has stopped, however,
and it is said that Grizzeltoe, a big-nosed young male dwarf,
was the last Jitsua who was also a demi-god.
GUILDS, CLANS, AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS
The unifying properties of the worship of a single deity has
caused the formation of many religiously-based organizations
in Xyllomer. The most prominent of these organizations are
the religious guilds of Xyllomer, which demand a strong
faith in a particular deity before allowing members to join
their ranks. These guilds include the Clerics of Rokoon,
the Warshrike Alliance as well as the Asgoth Warriors, the
Priests of Huitzilopochtli, and the Eagle Warriors.
Some organizations also exist independently from guilds;
among them include the Cults of Bhaal, Ao, and Koranishaxx,
the formation of various religious-based trade houses, or
independently formed Clan groups, such as the Mulqueen Clan.
Such organizations are usually based on the interaction of
interested adventurers with each other, and quite often can
be dissolved as quickly as they are formed, making them
difficult to catalogue.
.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:._.:*~*:.
.:*~*:._.:* SPECULATION AND CONCLUSION *:._.:*~*:.
Alltogether there exists 13 worshipable deities in Xyllomer and
approximately 36 known deities of Xyllomer in total, depending
on the method of counting. The majority of these deities belong
to one of the two major schools of religious philosophy within
Xyllomer, which have been referred to simply as the primordian
pantheon and the jungle pantheon.
There exists, of course, speculation of the correlation between
the seemingly opposing Primordian and Yucutan creation theories.
Some noted comparisons are below:
PRIMORDIAN DEITIES // YUCUTAN DEITIES
AO The Dual Lord / Lady
Tharandil Xipe Totec
Rokoon Quetzalcoatl
Bhaal Tezcatlipoca
Calric Tlaloc
Of course, the basic difference in the comparison between these
two creation theories is the placement of Huitzilopochtli as one
of the key deities in the creation of the world in the jungle
pantheon, as opposed to his placement as a sibling of Asgoth in
Primordian pantheon. Such speculation, however, is wholly
academic in nature, and as often is the case in matters of
religion, has no basis in factual research.
Many thanks go to Eiron, Maxell and Krisstian for assistance
in research and clarification, as well as Shakli for proofing.
